License and attribution

HUD's data is public domain. The compilation is CC BY 4.0: credit "Data: Year Fifteen (lihtc.loan)" with a link. Year Fifteen is published by Janover Capital LLC and is not affiliated with the IRS, HUD or any state housing finance agency. Nothing returned is tax or legal advice, an appraisal or a loan offer.

Questions people ask

Is there a cost or an API key?

No. The server is free, read-only and needs no key or sign-in. Please cite the lihtc.loan page or the HUD source that comes back with each answer.

Where does the data come from?

HUD's national LIHTC database (LIHTCPUB, revised May 28, 2026): the 13,244 projects placed in service 2009 to 2018, the same rows as the Year 15 tables and the download on the data page. Owner and contact fields are not republished.

Are the Year 15 dates exact?

No. They assume credits began the year the property was placed in service; an owner may have elected the next year, and the recorded extended use agreement often runs past the federal minimum. Check the Forms 8609 and the agreement before relying on a date.
